In 1912 Albert Einstein had a choice. He was convinced that gravity and inertia were exactly the same but he could not prove this “exactness.” It would mean that the planets and stars were expanding at an accelerated rate–the whole universe would have to be both expanding and accelerating. Einstein thought this nonsensical as he was also convinced that we lived in an invariant universe that did not change its size, unlike his mentor and fellow developer of the theory of special relativity, Jules Henri Poincare who stated that the laws of special relativity allowed for the change in size of all matter without being visible– as the yardsticks would change along with everything else. Unfortunately, Poincare passed away in 1912, the same year Einstein gave up on exactness and instead put his full belief into an invariant universe where gravity was warped by space time in General Relativity. Because Einstein was actually describing a variant universe using terms and measuring devices that were invariantly members of the expanding accelerating universal frame his mathematics proved correct in all invariant calculations.

Because of this science has been satisfied with General Relativity for a hundred years now.

Had Einstein stuck with exactness we would have known in 1912 that the universe was both expanding and accelerating. Instead Hubbell found out in 1929 that the universe was expanding and Reiss et al. reported that the universe was accelerating in that expansion in 2004. However, science still refuses to accept the prospect that we live in a variant world.

Barry Lebost proposes that the Principle of Exactness replace the Principle of Equivalence using only the universal properties of accelerating bodies in space, which would eliminate the separate laws for gravity and bring physics one level closer to a unified theory. We do live in a variant world and it is just a matter of time before all scientists and subsequently all humans will realize and accept this fact of nature.

Gravity is no mere force among other forces, but rather the fundamental expression of the pure power and momentum of an expanding universe at the particle level, a power that geometrically shapes almost everything that exists according to the principle of cause and effect of accelerating bodies in space. In a universe that is expanding and accelerating in that expansion, observers that are integral members of the expanding accelerating frame cannot see themselves expanding because of observer invariance, the same property of motion that allowed virtually everyone, a few hundred years ago, to believe that the sun revolved around the earth. If we were born in an underground cave and lived there all of our lives would we know that the earth was turning? Would we know that the earth moved around the sun and the whole solar system moves around the center of the galaxy? If we sat quietly we would not think we were moving at all. While sitting in this cave every atom in our bodies expands at the same rate as the size and walls of the cave allowing us no outside reference to see our motion. But if we dropped something inside a cave we could measure its acceleration which would reinforce our belief that we are not moving.

However, when we gaze at anything that appears to be falling at the planet surface, it is because a released object from an accelerating frame is no longer accelerating, but rather moving at the velocity it had attained when released. Observer invariance distorts our perception because it makes us believe that we are stationary when we are actually members of a much larger universal frame that is in accelerated motion. Our measurement of the acceleration of something dropped is merely the relative motion between the object and the universal frame. Our perception of relative motion prevents us from discerning which frame is actually moving. It is difficult to understand and perceive that a falling object is the slower moving frame when your whole environment is in faster motion.

The waterfall ...

is the most dynamic of all expressions of gravity. If, while gazing at a waterfall, we envision ourselves moving upward we can appreciate that the water waits at the velocity achieved at the point of release for the faster moving ground to catch up to it.

The plumb bob …
Is a simple tool comprised of a string and a pointed weight. When suspended in an accelerating field it will pull taught and always point in the direction away from acceleration.

The Universal Properties of Acceleration state that this phenomenon occurs universally. No matter where you are in the universe this property exists. Because it points toward the center of the planet no matter where you are standing it is simply stating that the ground is accelerating upwards.

Gravity is not an attractive force as it was thought to be but rather is exactly inertia. Any two objects in space appear to be attracted because they both are expanding. As they expand the distance between them narrows until they touch. After they touch they push on each other with momentum.Inertia extends out into space because space still has particle matter in accelerated motion.

Read how this pushing creates the dual accelerating frame we call gravity in Universal Properties of Acceleration.

The Principle of Exactness:

Gravity is exactly inertia– they are one and the same. The surfaces of planets are expanding radially into space because of an expanding accelerating universal frame at the particle level. This phenomenon cannot be directly seen or measured because of observer invariance (all members of the universal frame are integral members of that frame and therefore motion in this direction becomes invisible and directly un-measurable).

What can be seen is that any two particles of matter in space appear to be coming together therefore an inference had been made by Isaac Newton that particles are attracted to one another when actually it is the space between them that becomes smaller and smaller until they collide.

Newton’s law of universal gravitation begins with an inference:

Every particle of matter in the universe attracts every other particle…

That inference, as it turns out, was incorrect.

Einstein could not accept a variant universe even though it was expressly allowed in special relativity– according to Jules Henri Poincare in 1897, in his paper on The Relativity of Space. (See the video, A Brief Conversation With Albert Einstein starring Carl Reiner as Albert Einstein.) Because the speed of light appeared constant (it is an acceleration in a variant universe) and because he could not envision planets getting larger at an accelerated rate Einstein gave up on exactness and devised Equivalence. Science has travelled down the road of invariance since, even after it was discovered that the universe is indeed expanding and accelerating.
